S6 Connect can help with all aspects of Domain Names, regardless of who you are using for your webhosting. There can be benefits to registering your Domain with a different provider to that of your hosting, and for this reason we have Domain Registration Agreements with multiple providers to give all our customers additional peace of mind. We can also assist with Domain disputes and transfers as necessary.
There are essentially three different levels of 'control' with a Domain Name. We can fulfil all three roles for you if you wish, or any combination of the three. Most of the settings are controlled and configured automatically, but we give you full acccess to make any changes as needed.
Domain Registrar orders and renews the Domain on your behalf, and will usually bill you;
Nameservers store all the individual (DNS) records that control your Domain behaviour;
DNS records control the finer details such as where the site is and where email should be sent.
